Winnipeg – A power outage in the St. Norbert area of Winnipeg occurred about 6:15 a.m. Boxing Day morning when a snow plow inadvertently struck a transformer pole in behind The Marketplace on Pembina Highway. About 1660 customers have been affected.
A crew was dispatched and after assessing the extent of the damage to the pole and transformer, the original expectation was to have power restored to most customers at about 11 a.m. Weather related challenges pushed that restoration time back to between noon and 12:30 p.m.
Power was restored early in the afternoon.
