WINNIPEG – Put on your long-johns. It’s a bitterly cold morning in Winnipeg and southern Manitoba with windchill values hovering around -40 C.
Environment Canada issued an official “extreme cold warning” for Winnipeg on Wednesday morning but it has since been lifted. The warning remains in place for the Brandon area.
There is still a high risk of frostbite on exposed skin in temperatures this low.
The weather service says the temperatures may rise a little this afternoon but there’s a good chance the extreme wind chills will redevelop again tonight.
