ANOLA – RCMP have shared details about a frightening situation that happened near a community just east of Winnipeg on Friday night into Saturday morning.
The Mounties got word on Friday of a man with guns who was threatening his family, and police.
He had secured himself in his home just east of Anola, and was alone inside.
Members of the RCMP, including the Emergency Response Team, set up outside his home and secured the area.
This included closing off roads into the area until late Saturday morning.
Area residents tell us they were turned away at these blockades by officers wearing camouflage, and carrying rifles.
Police eventually went into the man’s home, and found the 45 year old was dead.
The investigation has been turned over to the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba.
