BUFFALO – The Winnipeg Jets have failed once again in their bid to win three games in a row.
Saturday afternoon, they lost 4-3 to the Buffalo Sabres, blowing a 3-1 lead going into the third.
It’s the 8th time this season the Jets have been unable to get that elusive third straight victory, and it’s a familiar place for the Jets to be.
Last season, the Jets didn’t win three in a row until they closed the season with four straight victories.
Patrik Laine, the NHL’s rookie scoring leader, was escorted to the dressing room after taking an open-ice hit from Buffalo’s Jake McCabe 13 seconds after the Sabres had tied the game.
Next up for Winnipeg — the Calgary Flames, Monday night at 7 o’clock at MTS Centre.
