VIRDEN – Premier Brian Pallister is in hot water after making a few comments on night hunting.
Specifically, Pallister says indigenous people shouldn’t do it and the practice is creating a “race war”.
He also called it a “dumb practice”.
It’s illegal to hunt at night in Manitoba although Indigenous people are exempt from that rule.
NDP MLA Wab Kinew is demanding an apology from the premier and says his words are offensive and inflammatory.
Pallister made these comments at a meeting in Virden on Friday afternoon.
