MONTREAL- It looks like a new coach won’t do as much as the Habs hoped it would have.
Joel Armia, Mathieu Perreault and Patrik Laine all scored to lift the Winnipeg Jets over the Canadiens, 3-1 at the Bell Centre on Saturday.
The Montreal Canadiens lost Claude Julien’s first game as coach. Julien, who was fired by the Boston Bruins on February 7th, was hired by Montreal on Tuesday.
Connor Hellebuyck made 19 out of 20 saves for Winnipeg (27-29-5), they have five points in the past three games (2-0-1) after four losses in a row.
Carey Price made 30 saves for Montreal (31-20-8), which extended its losing streak to three.
Montreal is now off for a few days before heading to Madison Square Garden to take on the Islanders on Tuesday.
As for the Jets, they play tomorrow in Ottawa against the Senators.
