Some people who were stuck in a burning home are okay after Winnipeg Police got them out safely Saturday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., patrolling officers spotted a porch on fire in the 500 block of Spence Street.
Two residents got themselves out, but there were up to five others inside the multi-level home.
The officers went in and lent a hand to several people who were trapped and having a hard time breathing.
Paramedics treated the residents and the officers for smoke inhalation, while the fire department dealt with the flames.
The cause is under investigation.
