ST. CATHARINES- Ontario’s Rachel Homan managed to break the streak of losses Michelle Englot had given her during the tournament, and just in time. She won 8-6 in the 11th end to capture her third Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Sunday.
Homan, 27, is the youngest skip, male or female, to accomplish this feat.
Curling out of the Ottawa Curling Club, the team had previously won the Tournament of Hearts in 2013 and 2014.
They now add another win to their accomplishments, and now look ahead to represent Canada at the Women’s World Championship in Beijing starting March 18th.
Next year’s Scotties will be held in Penticton, British Columbia.
