CARBERRY – When Mounties pulled over a speeding Dodge Durango last Thursday afternoon, they may have wondered, ‘what’s the hurry’?.
Turns out it was because the three people inside were carrying more than $200,000 in cash.
The Durango was travelling 150 kilometres an hour when Mounties pulled it over on Highway 1 west of Carberry.
Inside the car, police found a small amount of pot and all that cash bundled in a suitcase.
Police are calling the cash drug money; specifically, proceeds from the sale of drugs.
Justin Poitras and Lea Murrell, both of Winnipeg, have been charged along with a man from BC.
