Winnipeg – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added another piece to their Defensive Line with the addition of former Saskatchewan Roughrider Corvey Irvin.
Irvin started all 18 games for the Riders in 2016 and finished the year with 27 defensive tackles and 5 quarterback sacks. The 6-2, 295 pound Georgia Bulldogs product began his CFL career with Montreal in 2015, playing 13 games while contributing 11 defensive tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble.
The 31 year old native of Augusta, Georgia was a third round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2009 and went on to play a total of 24 games in parts of 5 NFL seasons with Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Dallas, and Detroit.
The Bombers have also announced they will be holding a mini camp from April 26-28 at an as yet to be determined location. All Quarterbacks on the roster, along with first year players, and some second year players will participate in the 3 day camp which will be open to the public.
Head Coach Mike O’Shea will be running the camp, along with Coordinators Paul LaPolice and Richie Hall as well as several other members of the coaching staff.
