NASHVILLE- It was a pretty good summary of the Jets’ season so far. Winnipeg played hard and tried to stay out of the penalty box, but tonight it was the same result as the last three games. Nashville Predators win 5-4 over the Jets in overtime on Monday night.
The game winner came from Nashville’s James Neal, who scored in 2:11 of overtime to push the Predators to two wins in a row.
The Jets were evenly matched for most of the game, scoring verbatim with the Predators. Blake Wheeler, Dustin Byfuglien, Patrik Laine, and Joel Armia all scored the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck made 37 saves.
Whereas on Nashville’s side, it was Austin Watson, Mike Fisher, Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen accompanying Neal with goals. Pekka Rinne made 30 saves.
The Winnipeg Jets take no time to lick their wounds as they head to New Jersey to take on the Devils on Tuesday.
Nashville will savour the win as they travel to Washington versus the Capitals on Thursday.
