WINNIPEG – New sexual assault charges have been laid against an osteopathic therapist in Winnipeg.
The man was first arrested in June after a 25-year-old woman came forward to police alleging several incidents of inappropriate touching during therapy sessions at a clinic in Osborne Village.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that two more women have come forward this year with similar complaints, one in 2012 and one in 2014 at a clinic in the Wildwood Park area of Winnipeg.
“We were aware of the individual that is facing charges here and we were pursuing an investigation regarding an individual,” said Const. Rob Carver.
Global News and 680 CJOB have learned the 50-year-old has previously been charged with six counts of sexual assault and is facing two new charges with these latest complaints.
“There is the potential that more victims could come forward,” said Carver who added the man is no longer practicing osteopathic therapy.
He has been released on a promise to appear in court.
