WINNIPEG – A charge of manslaughter has been laid against a Winnipeg man after an argument turned deadly.
On Friday afternoon, Winnipeg Police were called to a home on Isabel St. near Pacific Ave for reports of an assault. Emergency crews rushed a man to hospital in critical condition.
Const. Jason Michalyshen said it appears two men got into an argument which led to a fight. The victim was then stabbed with some sort of weapon.
“These individuals knew each other to some degree, whether they were friends or acquaintances,” Michalyshen said. “These two individuals engaged in an argument and I don’t have the specific reason.”
Nathan Grant Jones, 24, was arrested early Saturday morning in the Norwood area of Winnipeg and charged with aggravated assault but on Sunday Christopher Paul Fraser, 36, died in hospital.
Jones’ charges were then upgraded to manslaughter.
He remains in police custody.
