WINNIPEG – Four men have been arrested after crashing a stolen car early this morning.
Police spotted the car near Charles Street in the North End around 4 a.m., but the car didn’t stop so a chase ensued.
The car then sped west down Portage Avenue before slowing and colliding with a building near Bruce Park.
Four men got out of the car and started to run but didn’t get too far before all four were cuffed.
Constable Rob Carver says things could have gone a lot worse because officers also found two loaded guns in the car.
“When that vehicle stops, if they had chosen to stop voluntarily, at this point we only have two officers in one car. Those two officers are faced with four armed individuals in the car they are stopping, and this is not uncommon.”
The four men are now facing a number of charges.
