Winnipeg – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have filled one of the two remaining openings on their coaching staff by promoting former assistant Marty Costello to Offensive Line Coach for the 2017 CFL Season.
Costello takes over for the man he worked for past season, Bob Wylie, after Wylie accepted a similar job with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns this past January.
The Blue Bombers Offensive Line was one of the most improved in the CFL last season, allowing the second fewest sacks in 2016.
Head Coach Mike O’Shea still needs to hire a Running Backs Coach to replace Avon Cobourne, who mutually parted ways with the Winnipeg Football Club last Saturday to pursue an opportunity outside of the game.
The Bombers have a 3 day mini camp scheduled to begin in just under three weeks for first year and selected second year players, as well as Quarterbacks Matt Nichols, Dan LeFevour, and Dominique Davis.
The dates are set for April 26-28 but the weather will dictate whether the venue is Investors Group Field or the Indoor Soccer Complex.
