WINNIPEG – A long awaited report on ways to fix Manitoba’s finances is out less than 24 hours before the government rolls out this year’s budget.
It includes a number of recommendations including tough talk on holding the line on spending across all departments.
The review suggests eliminating management positions when possible and implementing a public sector wage freeze.
The panel that authored the review consists of experts from business or finance and incorporates feedback from the public.
The report will likely serve as a blueprint for the provincial government’s spending plans over the next few years.
