Winnipeg – A bombshell announcement from the Canadian Football League on Wednesday Morning. The CFL Board of Directors have agreed to go their separate ways effective the end of June.
Orridge made reference to having “differing views” with the Board Of Governors on the future direction of the league. Suffice to say, those must have been pretty dynamic differences in order for the Commissioner to step down on June 30th just as the 2017 season is starting.
There was no immediate word on when a search would begin for a successor. It would seem reasonable to suggest the league would not want to operate without a “commander in chief” too far into the upcoming campaign.
