The price of gas in Winnipeg is on its way down again.
A lot of pumps around town are showing regular under $1.00, according to gasbuddy.com.
GasBuddy’s Dan McTeague said it has nothing to do with the wholesale prices from the refinery, but the retail margin.
He said on Friday, gas bars are buying their fuel at 91 cents a litre.
“That five, eight cent difference has everything to do with how much the gas station operator wants to take as far as an operating margin is concerned,” McTeague said.
McTeague said the wholesale price has been pretty stable lately, but station owners will send their prices up and down, making money for a while, then try to give the customer a break.
