Defensive tackle Doug Brown is the lone Blue bombers representative as the CFL gets set to announce it's Most Outstanding Players for 2008. Brown is the East Division finalist for Most Outstanding Defensive player, and he is up against B.C. Lions sack specialist Cameron Wake for the award. Brown concedes he has little or no chance to win. Still, Brown's status as one of the CFL's very best is beyond question. He was named on Wednesday, Nov. 19th, to the CFL Players association All-Star team, joining linebacker Zeke Moreno as the only Bombers on the squad.

Winnipeg Blue bomber CEO and President Lyle Bauer will be in Montreal on Friday, Nov. 21st to interview Bomber defensive co-ordinator Greg Marshall and Edmonton Eskimos receivers coach Mike Kelly for the Blue bombers head coaching job. Kelly is considered to have the inside track given his relationship with Bauer that dates back to 1992 when Kelly joined the Bombers as offensive co-ordinator.
The Bombers are expected to waste no time in naming Doug Berry's replacement as head coach, with the announcement coming as early as the week after the Grey Cup Game.

The Winnipeg Blue bomber 2008 CFL season ended with a 29-21 loss to Edmonton in the CFL East Division semi-final game. Many questions surround the 2009 season. Will upper management make significant changes to the managerial ranks, coaching staff or the player ranks?? Will they stick with Kevin Glenn, Ryan Dinwiddie, Bryan Randall and Timmy Chang as their quarterbacks, or will they make a major move to upgrade the position? Winnipeg Blue Bomber slotback Milt Stegall says he isn't sure about his future. Stegall caught 5 passes for 56 yards as the Bombers lost 29-21 to Edmonton in the CFL East Division semi-final in front of 27,500 fans at Canad-Inns Stadium on Saturday, November 8th. The 38-year old Stegall told CJOB he wasn't prepared to make a decision on playing again. But Stegall said he wouldn't wait very long before letting everyone know whether he plans to retire or come back for another season.

The Winnipeg Blue bombers 2008 season ended with a 29-21 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday in front of 27,500 fans at Canad-Inns Stadium in the CFL East Division semi-final game. Ricky Ray passed for 303 yards while running back A.J. Harris rushed for two touchdowns. The Bombers committed 4 turnovers, one of them was an interception return for a touchdown by Edmonton defensive end Fred Perry. Winnipeg's touchdowns came on a 78-yard Kevin Glenn to Romby Bryant touchdown pass while Jason Armstead scored on a 92-yard punt return. Bombers finish the season 8-11.

Linebacker Ike Charlton practiced for the first time all week Thursday an declared himself ready for Saturday's East semi-final crossover playoff game against the Edmonton Eskimos at Canad-Inns stadium. Charlton suffered a sprained ankle in the final game of the regular season. He says getting pressure on Edmonton quarterback Ricky Ray and solid tackling are the keys to handling the Eskimos offence. The Winnipeg Blue bombers held their final practice Thursday leading up to Saturday's East semi-final crossover game against Edmonton. And while the conditions were miserable, rain, ice pellets and strong North winds, head coach Doug Berry says it was perfect preparation for what might lie ahead. Berry said he was optimistic safety Ian Logan, linebacker Ike Charlton and receiver Terrence Edwards would all play. Those three practiced for the first time all week. Bombers and Eskimos kick off at 12 noon on Saturday.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers feel they have lots of momentum as they get set to host the Edmonton Eskimos Saturday at Noon in the CFL East Division semi-final cross-over game.
