Rookie Blue Bomber Linebacker Bernard Hicks has been ruled out of Sundays game in Regina because of a leg injury. Hicks suffered the injury during the Bombers last game in Montreal. Clint Kent is expected to replace Hicks, while Brandon Stewart will come back on to the roster as a 6th defensive back.
Bomber head coach Paul Lapolice remains undecided, as of Thursday, on his starting quarterback for the labor day weekend game against the Roughriders. Buck Pierce will get the nod, but only if LaPolice is satisfied he has the proper mobility.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers have taken the bus to Regina for the annual labor day weekend game for at least the last decade, but that won't be the case this year. The Bombers will take the 6 hour bus ride home from Regina right after the game, but they will fly to Regina on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Paul Lapolice says he convinced management that the team would be better prepared for the game if they didn't have to endure the 6-hour bus trip. Winnipeg Blue bombers brought in a new receiver on Wednesday. Greg Carr, an undrafted free agent from Florida State who spent some time with the San Diego Chargers in 2009, joined the Bomber practice roster. Carr is 6-5, 215 pounds, and in his final 2 years with the Seminoles, he caught a total of 84 passes for 1337 yards.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers returned from their bye week on Sunday, August 30th and were back on the practice field Monday with 2 new players wearing Blue and gold jerseys. Marlon Winn is a 6-foot, 6-inch 325 pound offensive tackle from Texas Tech University while Jeremy Maddox is a 6-1, 265-pound defensive tackle from Alabama A & M. Both are in Winnipeg to be evaluated and don't figure to be in the lineup this weekend when the Bombers visit Saskatchewan.

The Winnipeg Blue bombers returned to the practice field on Tuesday, August 31st after their bye week and by the looks of things, safety Ian Logan, rookie linebacker Marcellus Bowman and veteran receiver Markus Howell will all be healthy enough to return to the lineup from injuries. The bombers are getting set to visit Saskatchewan on Sunday. Logan has been plagued all season by a hamstring problem, Howell was also bothered by a hamstring injury while Bowman has missed the last month with a broken hand. Winnipeg blue Bombers have made 2 roster changes for Thursdays game with the Montreal Alouettes. Linebacker Merrill Johnson from Auburn will be activated in place of injured import kicker Louie Sakoda, while Sakoda's replacement, Justin Palardy takes the roster spot of Canadian Linebacker Chris Smith. The Alouettes won't have their number-one running back, Avon Cobourne. Cobourne is sidelined with a minor ankle injury. Brandon Whitaker takes his place.

Rookie kicker Justin Palardy will make his Blue bomber debut when the Bombers visit Montreal on Thursday night. Palardy won a kicking competition with veteran Warren Kean and will replace Louie Sakoda, who suffered a calf muscle injury during the warm-up prior to last weeks game against Hamilton. Palardy was a 5th round draft pick of Hamilton out of St. Mary's University this year, and had a 42.7 yard punting average when he was released by the Tiger Cats a few weeks ago. Winnipeg Blue Bombers have brought in two new Canadian place-kickers as they prepare for Thursday's visit to Montreal. With Louie Sakoda expected to miss the game because of a strained calf muscle, the Bombers will audition Justin Palardy and Warren Kean for the place-kicking duties against the Alouettes. Palardy was cut two weeks ago by the Hamilton Tiger Cats while Kean has tried out for a number of CFL teams, including the Blue bombers a couple of years ago.

Winnipeg Blue Bomber head coach Paul Lapolice says his considering personnel changes in the wake of Friday's 39-28 loss to Hamilton that left the Bombers with a 2-5 record. LaPolice said if the players aren't getting it done, there is no point staying with them, although it's unlikely any major moves will be made before the Bombers next game, which is Thursday in Montreal. Bombers continue to take too many penalties, 15 of them vs the Ticats, and they committed 5 more turnovers.
