An investigation is underway after a Calgary cop shot at a dog Thursday afternoon. Police received several 911 calls from residents of Evergreen, reporting two dogs were on the loose, chasing kids and trying to bite them. Duty Insp. Chris Butler says when the officer got out of his car one of the dogs charged and attempted to bite him, so a shot was fired in self defence. The dog was not injured, neither were any children. Calgary Bylaw and Animal Services will investigate to decide whether the dog's owner will be charged.
