A young woman accused of killing her mother sobbed when video evidence of the scene was shown at her Calgary trial.
Twenty-year-old, Britanny Mahingen, is charged with second-degree murder and her trial started Monday.
Court heard that Mahingen, who was 18 at the time, and her mother, Leanne, were drinking heavily while babysitting in November 2010.
Relatives called 911 but Mahingen's mother died in hospital from blunt force trauma to the head.
The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
