Sentencing has been delayed for one of the New Year's day killers. Defence lawyers for Real Honorio say they've just received startling news about the crown's key witness in the case. A man who says he was involved in the kidnapping of a man to set up a notorious Calgary gangster has apparently confessed to RCMP in Saskatchewan that he was the shooter in the January 1st, 2009 shooting at the Bolsa restaurant. Defence lawyers they just received a transcript of an interview the man had with RCMP in Unity, Saskatchewan last summer in which he confesses to be the killer. The crown and judge have agreed on a two week delay for the sentencing of Real Honorio to allow the defence to look at it's options. The judge cautioned that there may not be anything that can be done at this level and it may be an issue for the court of appeal. There was also testimony from eye witnesses in the case there was more than one shooter.
