UPDATE: Services disrupted after fire at Shaw Court
_News Talk 770
7/12/2012

Crews say progress is being made after a major communications meltdown in the city's downtown Wednesday afternoon.  An explosion and fire set off the sprinklers, which set off alarms and led the evacuation of the Shaw Court building.  Officials say heat and water damage are still a safety concern in the building.  But Shaw has tweeted at about 7:30 Thursday morning that service for the majority of customers was back up and running.  The city says 9-1-1 service is still operating normally, although the call centre received high call volumes because people were checking to see if their phone service was working.  They say "it's imperative" that calls to 9-1-1 are only for emergencies.  3-1-1 service was restored early Thursday morning.  Alberta Health Service reports there has been no impact to patient care, as they simply went to paper files because of the impacts to their computer system.  Regular numbers for Access Calgary are now restored.  Still no word on when our three radio stations (QR77, Country 105, Q107) will be able to broadcast out of the building.  They are now getting programming from our sister stations.
