The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has been called in, after a suspect was badly wounded during a police raid Wednesday morning.
It was just after midnight that Mounties visited a home on the Alexis First Nation, northwest of Edmonton, to execute an arrest warrant on a pair of suspects in a string of violent home invasions.
Police were confronted by an armed man, and as a result the 35 year-old suspect was wounded. Police won't say what exactly happened.
The 35 year-old man was rushed to hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.
The second man, a 21 year-old, fled the scene. Police called in the Dog team and eventually the man was arrested.
Charges are now pending against both men. (lk)
