As the debate continues over whether railroad back-to-work legislation was right, Matt Sawyer, Alberta Director, Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association and Chairman of the Alberta Barley Commission is welcoming the news with open arms.
"This is the worst possible time of year for a disruption in service; most of us are just finishing seeding and, looking at trying to haul remaining product to terminals and with this disruption we can't haul. And there's bills that need to be paid we've just shelled out a lot of money for our fertilizer and chemical and now it's time to pay these bills. Without us having our ability to haul our grain to position it really hurts us."
CP Spokesman, Ed Greenberg says now that the legislation is underway freight operations should return to normal by the end of the week.
