The local Syrian community is fed up with a lack of action from the UN in their nation.
The anger follows that massive weekend massacre by government forces, that saw inocent women and children slaughtered.
Mohamad speaks for the Edmonton chapter of the Syrian Canadian Council, and says he's heard stories from family members still living in Syria, about how unsafe it really is.
"People (back home) don't feel safe. You can be walking on the street, getting close to a checkpoint, and you can be shot and nobody would be help accountable for it."
He adds, Syrians aren't even safe in their own homes. "You can be in own your home and all of the sudden somebody will break in, take you and jail you."
Mohamad wants the federal government to take notice, and take action. He says the Syrian Canadian Council is raising money to help take down the Bashar al-Assad regime. (lk)
