Sherman using No Tobacco Day to try to proclaim bill
10:55am
EDMONTON/630 CHED
5/31/2012

Today is World No Tobacco Day and Liberal MLA Raj Sherman has found a fine way to celebrate the day by trying to get bill 203 proclaimed.

"Bill 203 has been passed by the legislation all it needs to become law is proclamation by the government. It's World No Tobacco Day so I'm calling on the PC's to proclaim bill 203 today so it can come into effect January 1st, 2013," Sherman said on 630 CHED's the Rutherford Show.

He continued to say that if the bill is proclaimed and you are caught smoking in a vehicle with anyone under the age of 18 you will receive a thousand dollar fine.

Bill 203 was passed with enormous support from many MLA's during the spring legislation but was never proclaimed. (pb)
