If you were planning on taking advantage of the city's trail system this weekend, take note.
The City of Edmonton has shut down the lower Fort Edmonton trail due to rising water levels along the Fort Saskatchewan.
Park Ranger Amanda Amanda Rode says they'll be keeping an eye on the situation.
"We're just monitoring (the river), so we're just following Alberta Environment's predicitions. So, as long as it stays the same (level) those lower trails will stay closed, but we are prepared to close more trails, down the road, if it gets higher."
A high water advisory was issued by the province Friday afternoon. (ks, twd, sj, lk)
