Federal NDP leader Tom Mulcair has struck another nerve with Premier Alison Redford.
It was Monday that Mulcair blasted oil companies for their fracking procedures, claiming they are lying to governments and the public about their practices.
Redford says the government does a great job of dialoging with the oil industry to regulate things like hydraulic fracturing.
"I think they're very irresponsible comments! The first thing I would say is that we in Alberta are very proud of our regulatory process, and when I talk to other political leaders in Canada and the United States, what we see is governments that want to make sure we have transparent processes in place with respect to (fracking)."
Redford suggests the comments are being used to strike fear of the oil industry into other parts of Canada. She's at the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary. (lk)
