The future home for 630 CHED Santas Anonymous is taking a big step forward.
$500,000 was donated by the Suncor Energy Foundation on Monday, which will go toward the Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit.
Deb Walker, project director for the facility, says this donation is the start of something special.
“It’s like a springboard, it’s the beginning of us being able to say yes to our builder to go ahead with the detailed design, because Santas needs a new home and the Christmas Bureau needs a new home. As anchor tenants, they will be able to count on us. "
Walker says they are very excited about the Suncor donation and that it’s the beginning of a $6 million donation goal.
The Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit is set to open in 2014. It will be a vibrant and innovative non-profit organization for over 20 Edmonton Charities.
