Francophone's from across our city will proudly wave the blue, white and red of France today.

Today marks French National Day, better known as Bastille Day to French citizens.

From 4-6pm Edmontonians are encouraged to come down to the French Alliance at 10424- 123 Street to experience the French culture and celebrate France's birthday.

There'll be live accordion music as well as Champagne and macaroons.

For Anthony Bertrand the Director of the French Alliance in Edmonton, Bastille Day is important to honor the past while enjoying the company of friends and family.

"Like Canadian Day it's a time to be with friends and family, have a good time and just celebrate to say we remember the past and we're proud of that “says Bertrand.

Tickets for the festivities are 10$ for adults and 5$ for kids 16 and under.  (JSL)
