Former Edmonton Oiler Fernando Pisani will be allowed to build an outdoor hockey rink on his property outside St. Albert.
Neighbours in the Riverstone Point Community were worried about the amount of noise and light that the rink would produce, leading to an appeal to stop the project.
However, on Wednesday night, The Sturgeon County Subdivision and Development Appeal Board denied an appeal, determining a permit wasn't needed for this type of project.
Pisani recently said that he was surprised at the uproar, noting he had followed all of the county's rules and had not tried to simply build the rink without going through due process. (bu)
