The Olympic Games could be another huge springboard to improve Alberta's already increasingly strong economy.
That's the hope for our Tourism and Parks industry who are at the Games hoping to persuade tourists to visit Alberta.
Parks and Tourism Minister Christine Cusanelli tells us what they key is to attract more tourists.
"It stands to reason that at this point what we would want to do is to create those stronger ties and in order to do that people need to be able to have that direct access coming into Alberta and out from Alberta" says Cusanelli.
Cusanelli hopes that people see that Alberta has not been as impacted as the global stage has from tough economic times.
She says their main focus is the Asian markets because she feels that is where an even bigger economic growth can take place.
Both the Edmonton and Calgary airports have gone through major expansions which means there are more opportunities for foreigners to visit our province. (JSL)
