The RCMP says a pilot is in hospital after a plane crashed southeast of Calgary Thursday afternoon.
The single-person aircraft crashed near the Indus Winters Airport around 12:30pm.
The pilot, a man in his 50s, was airlifted to hospital.
Witnesses tell police the plane left the runway and climbed about 400 feet before descending beyond the horizon. It crashed in a field about two kilometres south of the airport.
The RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating. (ks)
