Kristians Pelss scored with less than three minutes left to lift the Edmonton Oil Kings past the Swift Current Broncos 2-1 in WHL action on Saturday. Michael St. Croix gave Edmonton (43-15-7) the lead at 3:37 in the second period. It was short lived though, with Richard Nedomlel's power-play goal for the Broncos (24-35-8) less than two minutes later, tying the game at one. Oil Kings goaltender Tristan Jarry made 18 saves for the win, while Jon Groenheyde stopped 32 shots for Swift Current.
The Oil Kings host the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday at Rexall Place. (gb)
