The Hamilton Public School Board is going to chop about 30 million dollars from its budget next year.
The 2012 budget will see a five per cent decrease in the operations and capital expenditures taking the bottom line to about 536 million dollars.
While most of the cuts are coming to the capital portion of the budget, salaries and benefits are up slightly and that still makes up the lion's share of the budget.
The public board is projecting a slight decrease in enrolment of about 800 students.
