The Great Lakes could be bone dry in as little as 80 years.
That dire warning from Council of Canadians head Maude Barlow.
She says the lakes are in such peril that if nothing is done to correct the situation we will lose our major source of water.
Hamilton is the second stop on a two week Ontario tour to raise support to have the wateshed protected as a public trust.
That would mean the lakes would be declared “a common heritage enjoyed by all."
But ultimately, the lakes would have to be protected by international treaty, from things like chemcial dumping and water skimming.
