There's a new lease on life for the Eramosa Karst feeder lands.
The province has agreed to turn over control of the lands to the Hamilton Conservation Authority for the next 20 years.
The issue became a political hot potato when Infrastructure Ontario wanted 800-thousand dollars from the conservation authority for the land.
Six months of negotiations has produced a compromise, a dollar-a-year lease over two decades, with an option to renew.
The Karst is a rare geological formation of caves and sinkholes.
