A dip in May's building permit figures is being described as a "blip" on the radar, rather than the start of a trend.
In April, city staff said Hamilton was on track this year to beat the all time best figure of 1-billion dollars worth of industrial construction set back in 2010.
In May, construction permits trailed last year by about 1.6-million dollars.
Hamilton's Economic Development Department says there are several new projects about to get underway, including the Union Gas development on South Service Road in Stoney Creek.
