Graduation season is underway -- and a local school for homeless and street youth has made history.
Eight people graduated from the Notre Dame House School yesterday afternoon -- the largest class it has produced in its 11 years.
The school first opened in 2001 and is an offshoot of the Good Shepherd Centre’s Notre Dame House, a 24-hour emergency shelter and resource centre for youth.
The outdoor ceremony was held behind the school on Cannon Street near James Street North.
The event also recognized 20 other students who have earned five credits or more through the program.
