Ticats vs. Riders tonight
Rick Zamperin
6/29/2012

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders open the CFL regular season tonight at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

It will be the final season opening game in Ivor Wynne's history.

The game also marks the regular season debuts for new Ticats head coach George Cortez, quarterback Henry Burris and receiver Andy Fantuz.

Fantuz says it will be nice to see his former teammates and friends before the game, but once they game begins "it will be all business and it'll just be a football game."

He says the atmosphere will be electric under the Friday night lights.

Hamilton's depth chart is highlighted by two changes.

Centre Marwan Hage and linebacker Markeith Knowlton are listed as backups.

The game also marks the head coaching debuts for both Cortez and Saskatchewan's Corey Chamblin, who spent last season as Hamilton's defensive coordinator.

Check out Saskatchewan's depth chart here.

CHML's coverage of the game, brought to you by Terra, Canada's Toughest Safety Boots, begins with the pre-game show at 6pm.

Kickoff is at 7 o'clock.

Hall of Famer Joe Zuger will be the halftime guest tonight.

The team is honouring Zuger, who threw for a CFL record 8 touchdowns against Saskatchewan 50 years ago.

That record still stands.

And Ticats Hall of Fame receiver Tony Gabriel will join Rick Zamperin and John Salavantis in the broadcast booth during the 3rd quarter.
