A decision on Councillor Terry Whitehead's defamation appeal has been reserved by the Ontario Superior Court.
Whitehead appealed a guilty verdict he received last year of defaming a Flamborough resident.
The three justices spent about 15 minutes discussing the issue before they decided they needed more time to consider their decision.
The court could order a new trial, or even dismiss the case.
Roman Sarachman launched a lawsuit against Whitehead over an email the councillor sent four years ago in which Whitehead stated that Sarachman was a quote: “destructive, mean-spirited, irrational liar that does not deserve the time of day.”
