There's going to be a new perspective when Ivor Wynne Stadium is rebuilt.
There had been indications that the stadium would be shifted to a north-south configuration and that appears to be the case.
Infrastructure Ontario has been "mum" on the subject, citing the need to protect the bidding process.
But The Hamilton Spectator says a report to be presented to a city committee on Monday shows that the stadium will be shifted 90 degrees.
It also recommends the city obtain a public school parking lot south of Ivor Wynne because “the proposed stadium design would have the new west stands encroaching on to school board lands.”
The layout change would help keep direct sun out of the eyes of players, as well as a majority of fans.
