Discouraging news on the local health care front.
The Hamilton-area Local Health Integration Network failed to meet 12 of 14 health performance targets for the 2010-11 fiscal year.
According to the LHIN’s annual report, the performance deteriorated from the previous year in five categories.
Former LIHN board member, McMaster Professor Stephen Birch, says the data shows things are not getting better, and the ministry’s experiment with LHINs has failed to produce the goods.
