A Burlington native is gearing up for a 45 kilometre swim this weekend.
Michele Benoit will swim from Port Dalhousie to Spencer Smith Park. She's expected arriving at the Brant Street Pier at 8 p.m. Saturday, if weather allows.
The city of Burlington will temporarily open the nearly-finished pathway between the Brant Street Pier and the west end of the beach to help Benoit exit the water more easily.
Her swim is aimed at raising money for safe drinking water in West Africa.
