A reduced sentence has been awarded to the man who admitted to being an accessory in the murder of a Hamilton man.
41 year old Jason Lusted, who admitted to witnessing the abduction and murder of Billy Mason has had his 10 year sentence knocked down to 7 and a half years.
A panel of judges made the decision because they said it's not apparent the trial judge took his co-operation into account.
They took 10 minutes to make their decision after hearing brief arguments.
Lusted confessed to police and gave them the evidence they needed to arrest Jeremy Hall, who is to stand trial next year for the first-degree murder of Mason back in 2006.
Lusted is to be the key witness against him.
