Hamilton Police have a man in custody following an early morning break in at a home just west of the downtown core.
Police say that at around 5:30 Saturday morning, they got a call from a frantic woman who said a man had just broken into her house on Reginald Street.
Officers arrived and confronted the man, who appeared to be intoxicated on booze and/or drugs.
He put up a fight and ended up being taken to St. Joseph's Healthcare for treatment of a minor head injury.
A Hamilton man believed to be in his late twenties is facing charges.
The woman wasn't injured.
