Two women are dead and a third was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries after a residential shooting in the community of Mountainview, south of Belleville.
Sergeant Christine Rae with Smith Falls OPP says an adult male has been taken into custody.
OPP are expected to release more details as the investigation continues.

A pot of oil and malfunctioning smoke alarms are to blame for the deadly fire that took the life of a father and daughter last weekend in North Toronto.
The unattended pot escalated from a small fire to an uncontrollable blaze due to a non-working smoke alarm on the first floor and a malfunctioning smoke alarm on the second floor.
Manager of Fire Investigations with the Fire Marshall's Office, Chris WIlliams, says this is a solemn reminder to keep smoke detectors in check.
"The messaging is clear: that functioning smoke alarms are required on every floor."
Deceased Ken and Britney Einboden leave behind wife and mom Beverley and 4-month-old Kendra.

Dozens of special interest groups are trying to woo Toronto's Budget Chief in order to grab a slice of the city's unexpected $100-million windfall.
That's the money Mayor Miller found this week. Money he promised would be used to keep the property tax increase at 3%.
But libraries, community groups and city run programs are all asking Chelley Carroll if they can have some.
She says she's only planning to open the taps by a drip.

A garbage truck driver is dead and another dealing with life-threatening injuries after a rollover in Toronto.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. on the ramp from eastbound Bayview-Bloor to the northbound DVP.
The driver was trapped for nearly 90 minutes and pronounced dead on scene, once he was freed from the wreckage. The other man was flung from the vehicle and is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The ramp was closed for several hours for the investigation.

The Toronto Homicide Squad is investigating following a deadly shooting in the east-end.
Toronto EMS confirm to AM640 News a man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound to the head in an apartment building near Lawrence Ave. and Kingston Rd., shortly after 10 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead on scene. At this point there is no word on suspects.

Police officers from across Ontario, Canada and even the U.S. are expected to turn out in droves today as a show of support at the funeral for an Ontario provincial police officers.
Const. Vu Pham was shot and killed Monday after pulling over a pickup truck on a rural southwestern Ontario road.
The suspect, Fred Preston, was then shot in an exchange of gunfire after another officer got to the scene near Wingham, Ontario, north of London.
Preston had been in critical condition ever since, though he was charged with first-degree murder, and he died Thursday night after his family decided to take him off life support.
Thousands of police officers are expected to pay tributes to Pham today in a full police funeral in Wingham.
A steady stream of people attended a visitation Thursday for Pham, with people lining up around the block to pay their respects to his family.

The 70-year-old man charged with first-degree murder in the death of an Ontario Provincial Police officer has died in hospital.
Const. Vu Pham was shot and killed Monday after pulling over a pickup truck on a rural southwestern Ontario road.
Fred Preston was shot after another officer got to the scene in Wingham.
Preston had been in critical condition since then, but the province's Special Investigations Unit, which is handling the investigation, said he died Thursday.
Relatives of Preston say he died in the evening after he was taken off life support.
Thousands of police officers are expected to attend Pham's funeral Friday in Wingham.

After 28 years representing Ward 22-St. Paul’s, councilor Michael Walker announced Thursday he won’t seek re-election in the fall. Walker admits it’s time to move on.
His executive assistant, Chris Sellors, will be running to replace Walker, against TDSB trustee Josh Matlow.

Sexual assault charges for a Toronto doctor after three women claim they were attacked in separate incidents. The alleged assaults took place while the victims were under anesthetic for surgical procedures in hospital, between August 2007 and February 2010. 61 year old George Doodnaught has been charged with three counts of sexual assault. Doodnaught has been an anesthesiologist since 1981 and has worked at North York General Hospital for the past 28 years. He’s also worked at several other facilities in the GTA.
Investigators believe there may be more victims, and are asking anyone who may have witnessed, heard or seen anything which could help in this on-going investigation, to call police at 416-808-4040.

GO Transit is chopping a couple of bus lines in Newmarket; moves critics say will put passengers back in their cars.
The 62 Newmarket B bus to York Mills, and the Newmarket-York University bus will both be scrubbed next month.
GO says there's low ridership. But passengers claim their commutes will now be longer and more expensive and they'll hop back in their cars as a result.
