Investigators with Toronto police are now working closely with cops in Manchester, England.
Constable Wendy Drummond says 33-year old Helen Gavaghan took her daughter Pearl out of England back in 2008, despite having a joint custody order with the girls' father.
Since then, the pair has been to Mexico, Texas and eventually Toronto. Drummond says police searched a home in the Parkdale area back in February of 2010 but found nothing. The pair is believed to still be in the city.
Drummond says the mother may have changed her name to Dana Flaherty and Pearl under the name Belle Flaherty.
Helen is described as 5’5”, with a very thin build. She has green/brown eyes and had long black hair, which may now be dyed and/or cut short. She has a prominent angular nose and wide ears. Pearl is described as 3’7”, although she has probably grown in the past 18 months. She was of normal build with green/brown eyes. She was last seen with light-brown, shoulder-length hair.

An offshore oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, west of the site of the April blast that caused the massive oil spill.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Casey Ranel says the blast was reported by a commercial helicopter company about 9:30 a.m. CDT Thursday.
Seven helicopters, two airplanes and four boats are en route to the site, about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay along the central Louisiana coast.
Ranel says it hasn't been determined whether the structure is a production platform or a drilling rig or whether workers were aboard.
Ranel says smoke was reported but it is unclear whether the rig is still burning.
