Get set to pay more starting Sunday.
It's no April fool's joke, as British Columbians get slapped with more fee and tax increases.
BC Ferries rates are up more than four per cent.
"The fare increases are required due to the rising cost of our operating and capital expenditures,” says spokesperson Deb Marshall. “Unfortunately we do have to put a tariff increase in place."
It'll also cost more to heat your home. BC Hydro rates are jumping more than six per cent.
Jordan Bateman with the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation has his eye on another hike.
"Probably the most expensive one for those of us in the Greater Vancouver area is going to be the two-cents-a-litre Translink gas tax increase."
That tax goes to pay for the Evergreen Line.
