Anxious mother waits for recovery to begin

An axious mother wants to know why its taking so long for rescuers to find her daughters, buried by a landslide near Kaslo.

"Why aren't there out there digging out my family right now? They've been there since 11 o'clock yesterday".

Lynn Migdal says her Johnson's Landing home is accessible -- so much so that a neighbour was able to walk there, and peer into the roof.
So why aren't rescuers, firefighters, even volunteers being used in the search efforts?

"If there was a fire they'd be up there on the mountain putting the fire out...well, my family is maybe suffocating to death right now while they're waiting."

Migdal says her daughters 17-year-old Rachel, 22-year-old Diana, and her ex-husband Valentine were about to have breakfast when the slide came down.

In fact, one daughter was on the phone with a friend when it happened.
